I don’t have any issues. I just don’t like how the world works.

Just heard word that the Georgetown Steamplant is closing.
Hopefully this is not true. Does sound like something the city would do. This weekend may be the last chance to see it.
Here is a tour and how to get there by bus: http://seattletransitblog.com/2012/04/24/may-6th-bus-sightseeing-and-steam-plant-tour/#comment-226174
Edit: 6 May 02012
No, the Georgetown Steamplant is not closing. Sorry folks for the false rumor.
It is actually good news. The steamplant, which is owned by Seattle City Light, has received some money for renovations. Renovations will happen for the next 1.5-3 years. Due to this the normal public viewing hours may be cancelled due to construction.
From their website: Public viewing hours are the first Sunday of the month, 1 to 5 PM. Other times by appointment.

The rumor was started when one of the groups was asked to move their equipment from the site. This is due to security concerns. With so many contractors coming through, safety of the stored equipment is a large concern.
Hope this answers some questions and concerns people have had.
Testing to see how this process works. If you would like to help me with my rent, I would be very appreciative. Hopefully will find a much grander or at least more humanitarian purpose for this.
This link should be a widgit called “Help with my Rent”

Have been reading some really good articles by John Micheal Greer lately. Have enjoyed many of his books and only recently have I stumbled on to his weekly blog. Take a look at it. It is a far more reasoned opinion as to what our future holds than I have seen in quite a while.
It goes along with some of my steampunk leanings. Needing to create stronger communities and to learn skills.

If you have not had a chance check out the Georgetown Steamplant, you should. The site is open for tours, which are free and open to the public, are held on the 2nd Saturday of each month. The Puget Sound Garden Railroad Society regularly meets on the grounds and runs a miniature railroad.

Interestingly Google Maps will not place this address correctly. Use the “A” marker as reference, zoom in, then use “Satellite” and you will be able to find it on the map.
To get there from Seattle:
From Airport Way South take 12th Ave S or 13th Ave S to S Bailey Street then drive in a southerly direction on S Ellis Avenue.
Going south on Ellis Avenue make a left onto S Warsaw Street. There is a closed gate in front of you, so go into the parking lot on your left. Follow the parking lot east to the back end where you will find a driveway back to the Steamplant. Park on the East side and either enter through the door on the east wall or there should be barn double doors open on the South end of the building. The south end of the building is storage for a number of different vehicles, the actual machinery of the Steamplant is on the north end of the building, so walk past these to get to the machinery.

They run classes for Steam Licenses on a regular basis at the Steamplant, but I am unable to find the official site for this.

Was told about a great place downtown Seattle for hats. Though I have passed this place many times while walking up and down the street I must admit I have not been in. My bad. Will definitely stop in the next time I am wandering around near the Post Office.

Hello all and welcome to my blog.
Since I am new to blogging I have no idea where I will be going with this. For now it is me experimenting with a multiple of options available to me. So sit back as I step up on my soapbox and shout out at the world. Hopefully something I say will be relevant or entertaining to you.
